Years ago while flipping through a tattered old copy of an adult magazine I came across a black and white photograph of Lauren Hutton when she was nineteen years old. I was enamored with the beauty of the pose and the figure. The fine detail of the image and the perceived softness of the body gave me a feeling of transparency that I tried to recreate with my rendering. The subtleties of the shoulders and ribs seemed to be enhanced with the grid-like blocks of color that both softened and defined the image. The end result was a piece that has a feel of elegance and sexuality. This image also marks the introduction of colored pencil into my methodology. STATUS: Collection of the artist.
