Road to Banff

Road to Banff
Growing up in Calgary, Alberta I made so many road trips to Banff that I’ve lost count. Several times I made the trip on bicycle. On those occasions I had a tendency to be much more observant of the scenery at the edge of the road. This image is an example of the beauty that goes unnoticed by the whizzing cars whose focus is on the destination. The Bow river ambles along the side of the highway in late fall oblivious to the scrutiny of my lens. The bleached driftwood sleeping along the bank is a peaceful reminder of the power of the spring run off.   Status: Private Collection
